Institutional Research

The South Puget Sound Community College Office of Institutional Research (OIR) is committed to dynamically and efficiently supporting the college community by providing systematic, timely, high quality data and research services that can be used to enhance effective decision making, planning, and to measure institutional effectiveness.

The OIR accomplishes its mission through assistance with assessment and strategic planning; data collection, analysis, and dissemination of results; and research development and reporting.

The OIR provides support for the assessment process at South Puget Sound Community College.  This includes biennial planning and assessment of the College Wide Abilities, instructional programs, and ongoing program and service review.

The OIR conducts a number of annual and other surveys which are used to help educate the college community about the students at SPSCC, both present and past. In an effort to support a culture of inquiry survey guidelines were created to assist with survey development.

Research and Reports

The OIR conducts institutional research studies on an ongoing basis and provides reports to the campus community.  These include the College’s core and strategic indicators and the annual Fact Book.  The OIR is also responsible for the coordination of the Institutional Review Board in accordance with the College’s policy on human subject research

The College's Student Right to Know Information, to include the Net Price Calculator, is also compiled by the OIR.
