The 2016-17 Women's Basketball team is balanced with seven tournament-experienced sophomores and six strong incoming freshmen. The women will play back-to-back games against strong teams at Clark Community College and Portland Community College in mid-November, followed by the home opener on November 20 against Wenatchee Valley Community College.
Clippers Women's Basketball will be hosting the Clipper Crossover tournament at SPSCC on December 16, 17 and 18, hosting teams from Shoreline, Linn-Benton and Treasure Valley. Later that month, they will play in the Skagit Valley Tournament as their final preparation prior to the competitive Western division league play.
Coach Mike Moore shared "Through consistent and focused practice habits, as well as staying disciplined and loud on the defensive end, we look to be competeitive within the Western Division." The team is returning NWAC Western Region Rookie of the Year and the NWAC single season rebounding record holder Savannah McGill, as well as two other starters to last season's team, Sydney and Taylor Sauls.
