Project Management Certificate

These certificates provide comprehensive grounding in Project Management principles, concepts, and terminology, while providing a broader perspective with greater appreciation of the linkage between project and program management.

Courses start year-round and offer multiple options to complete your certificate.  Take one class or the whole series.
 

Each course is based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) Guide*, which is the industry standard for Project Management and is published by the Project Management Institute (PMI®).

Tips:

  • Choose the certificate that is right for you
  • Classes are held over 2-3 days from 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Several classes are offered each month
  • Our instructors are project management professionals
  • We recommend taking Project Management Essentials first
  • Take our course in Microsoft Project to maximize your skills

 

Project Scheduler Certificate (81 hours)

Combine your unique expertise and competence to develop and maintain project schedules, while still possessing core knowledge skills in all areas of project management.

Project Coordinator Certificate (*60 hours)

Communicate project specifics and coordinate details in an assistant role, while still possessing core knowledge skills in all areas of project management.

The following changes are effective as of February 1, 2022.

*This certificate is now offered at 60 hours of training. If you believe you are eligible for a certificate of achievement under the new model, please email our team at conted@spscc.edu.

**Communications Skills in Project Team Management & Leadership replaces the formerly offered courses Project Communications Management and Project Leadership & Team Management. Students will receive course equivalency in the Coordinator Certificate for the new course if they have taken either of the previously offered communications and leadership/team management courses.

NEW! Strategic Planning for Program and Project Managers (75 hours)

Gain foundational tools based on the Project Management Institute’s Standard for Program Management with a focus on strategic planning, change management and the program planning framework and methodology.

Project Management Certificate (150 hours)

Gain the experience, education and competency to lead and direct projects.

*Communications Skills in Project Team Management & Leadership replaces the formerly offered courses Project Communications Management and Project Leadership & Team Management. Students who have taken both formerly offered courses can complete under the previous model. For these students, Project-Driven Change Management will be optional.

Students who have taken just one of either of the formerly offered communications or leadership/team management courses may take Communications Skills in Project Team Management & Leadership OR Project-Driven Change Management. Students should choose the course that best serves their training needs.
