Emergency Dental Information

Letter to our patients

To support national efforts to fight the COVID- 19 pandemic, our Campus Dental Clinic is taking the following steps to help assure your health and well-being:

  • We are following directives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a way to limit patient, staff, and student exposure to this virus.
  • We are following Governor Inslee’s proclamation restricting non-urgent dental care to conserve protective equipment for healthcare workers through May 18, 2020, or until further notice.
  • Your health, and the health of our staff and students matters to us, so going forward we will suspend all non-urgent care through May 18, 2020, or until further notice. Patients of record will be seen only for urgent and emergency dental needs during this time.

The clinic will open on a limited basis in June to support patients who need treatment that cannot wait until summer quarter. Students will not be present in the clinic during this time. It is our hope that during summer quarter, which runs during July and August, we can resume business as usual in some form. This being said, changes in equipment supply, social distancing guidelines, and infection control protocols will impact how we provide healthcare well beyond summer quarter.

We will be in contact with you to reschedule routine hygiene appointments. If you are already scheduled for an urgent issue, we will contact you the day before your appointment to discuss your health status, health screening protocols, and confirm whether the appointment should be kept. Please don’t hesitate to call us right away if you have a dental emergency or need immediate care.

The safety and well-being of our patients and students continues to be our primary concern. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 nationally and within our community and keep you up-to-date regarding our plans to reopen for business as usual. Please check back here for up to date information regarding our plan to reopen.

I urge you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We can be reached by phone at 360-596-5478 or by email at dental@clinic.spscc.edu and we will respond as soon as we can.

When you choose the SPSCC Campus Dental Clinic for your general dental care, you provide an invaluable opportunity for Dental Assisting students to serve patients in a clinical setting.
