International Student Tuition, Scholarship, and Campus Employment Information

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees at SPSCC typically cost 50 to 70% less than a 4-year university.  That’s why many U.S. citizens also choose to attend community college and then transfer to earn a bachelor’s degree.

2017-2018 Estimated Costs Quarter Annual
Tuition & Fees* (15 credit hours) $3,423 $10,269
Books $280 $840
Homestay $1,890 $5,670
Medical Insurance** $390 $1,560
Personal Expenses $690 $2,070
TOTAL $6,673 $20,409

*Tuition and fees are due every quarter term after you register for classes.  You can pay by credit card, cashier’s check, money order, wire transfer, personal check (from a U.S. bank) or traveler’s check.  You can also set up a plan to pay tuition in monthly payments.

**International students are required to purchase the SPSCC Firebird International Insurance Student Group Plan; no exceptions or waivers will be granted.

Scholarships and On-campus Employment

International students can apply for scholarships from $500 to $2,000 through the SPSCC Foundation after arriving on campus.  When it’s time to transfer to a 4-year university, some schools offer a special scholarship based on GPA when transferring from SPSCC.

Once you have arrived on campus, you are also eligible to apply to work at the College.  On-campus employment helps you gain professional and leadership experience outside of the classroom and earn extra money.
