In January 2014, the national GED® Testing Service began using a four-part series that is considered more rigorous and a better indicator of a student's readiness for college and careers. Those who did not complete or pass all five portions of the previous test before the deadline will have to retake the tests and must pay again. High School Equivalency Tests (GED®) are available only at official testing centers, and the new tests will be offered only on computer. The entire test costs $120, which is $30 for each test. Tests can be paid for online with a credit card.
