Clippers sweep NWAC Men’s Basketball Crossover Tournament

Clippers Men’s Basketball stood strong and swept the competition at home with three back-to-back wins at the annual NWAC Men's Basketball Crossover Tournament from Dec. 13 to Dec. 15.

The Clippers currently stand on a 10-1 record and a nine-game winning streak.

Number 14 for the Clippers dribbles the ball with defenders around himA three-day event hosting teams from across the Pacific Northwest, the tournament saw showdowns between teams from Portland, Edmonds, and Blue Mountain community colleges. The Clippers went undefeated at 3-0, and were one of two host teams to win all three games over the weekend across the NWAC. They led each game at the half and closed out the weekend with an average of 19 points over their opponents.

Their final game, a victory over the Edmonds Tritons, shows a turnaround from their November 11-point loss (85-74) to the Tritons.

Clippers sophomore guard DeMonte Malloy was named Tournament MVP and two additional Clippers, Tommy Faustka and Hunter Sipe, were named to the All Tournament Team.

Clippers Men’s Basketball will resume on Dec. 28 with a game against Yakima Valley Community College. Clippers Women’s Basketball continues with games against three teams at a Skagit Valley College tournament from Dec. 28 to Dec. 30.
