The Art Department at South Puget Sound Community College is thrilled to host Pittsburgh artist Kevin Snipes for a series of “unconventional pottery” demonstrations and lecture on March 21, free to the public. The day-long workshop will demonstrate Snipes’ layered approach to construction and surface decoration of pottery, as well as discuss the ideas that instigate his narrative illustrations.
Snipes has made a global footprint through exhibited works as far away as Jingdezhen, China. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics and drawing from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1994.
According to his website, “Snipes combines his love of constructing unconventional pottery with an obsessive need to draw on everything that he produces, creating a uniquely dynamic body of work.”
