Our ten favorite firsts of the 2016-17 year

It has been another year of incredible student successes, college awards, and faculty and staff growth at SPSCC.  While our list of achievements and proud moments far exceed a "top 10" list, we've done our best to highlight some of our favorite memories from this past year.

Here are our top ten favorite firsts of the 2016-2017 school year:

1. Clippers Men's Basketball clinched first ever NWAC West Regional Championship.
 
2. College awarded $500,000 to advance the Lacey "pathways" education model school-wide.
 
3. Economic impact study revealed college adds $316.1 million to Thurston County.
 
4. Clipper Athletics launched the inaugural season of Women's Volleyball.
 
5. College ranked #41 best community college in the nation for academics and diversity.
 
6. Salmon returned to Percival Creek after restorations to walking paths and footbridge.
 
7. Savannah McGill, Women's Basketball, sets multiple all-time rebound records in NWAC.
 
8. College welcomed 10 new world-class faculty educators.
 
9. Added various international transfer agreements, now totaling 11 in four countries.
 
10. Set record enrollments for Running Start, totaling nearly 20% of student body.
