SPSCC welcomed Washington Secretary of State Kim Wyman to the Percival Restaurant on Monday, Nov. 27, for the presentation of a special award to the college’s catering team.
Secretary Wyman presented a Certificate of Appreciation to SPSCC Catering Director Kelly McLaughlin for his team’s work in support of the Washington State Combined Fund Drive (CFD). Alongside CFD representatives and the SPSCC catering team, Wyman stated, “Your service, commitment, and excellence during the 2017 Combined Fund Drive Masquerade Ball made a significant impact for charities across Washington and is proof of your leadership to the people of Washington.”
McLaughlin acknowledged his team, stating, “This event was executed exclusively by my catering team, which is comprised of both current and former SPSCC culinary students (Chef Isaac Gillette, Matthew Pringle, Greg McCunn, and Sabella Barton).” The team donated the food and catering on behalf of the college, serving spinach and feta dip, meatballs, and a key lime dessert bar to over 1,400 attendees at the Masquerade Ball on Oct. 21 at the Washington State Capitol Building.
