Savannah McGill and the South Puget Sound Clippers [women] ended their season tonight and what a season it was for McGill.

The 6' 1" sophomore forward out of River Ridge High School in nearby Lacey, WA tallied 34 points for the Clippers, but more importantly McGill registered 18 rebounds to help her to break two more NWAC rebounding records.

Last season McGill recorded 456 rebounds to break the single season record for rebounds and earlier this season she became the league's all-time career rebounding leader.

McGill's 18 boards tonight was more than enough to break her own record as the sophomore, in her final game, finished the 2016-17 campaign with 471 rebounds for a career total of 927... 188 more than the previous record holder Mercedes Alexander of Lane (2007-2008) who had 783.

McGill also smashed the 27 year old season average for rebounds with an average of 19.63 rebounds per game surpassing Blue Mountain's Renae Griggs' 1990 mark of 16.78.

"Savannah came to us as a lengthy post player out of River Ridge High School and is one of the most competitive people I've ever met and a true leader on and off the court," said a proud SPSCC head coach Mike Moore.

McGill has verbally committed to play at Cal State East Bay next season. The Pioneers are coming off a 20-8 season and are currently battling in the post season for a spot in the NCAA Div II West Regionals.

Added Moore, "Savannah has set herself up both academically and athletically to achieve even greater things at the next level at Cal State East Bay. The entire SPSCC family is extremely proud of her and all of her accomplishments. We were blessed to have such an outstanding person be a part of this program and will be rooting for her as she enters her next chapter. GO PIONEERS and GO CLIPPERS!"
