SPSCC concerts spread spring sounds

The South Puget Sound Community College Music Program is sharing the sounds of spring with its upcoming June concerts.

Friday, June 10, 7:30 pm

Things kick off on Friday, June 10, when the SPSCC Chorus and Chamber Choir present “I Will Be Earth.” The concert will focus on selections that connect us with our environment, drawing from folk, classical and world works. The 7:30 p.m. performance will also be a benefit for the Thurston County Food Bank, and attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation. Tickets are $10 for general admission; $8 for seniors, non-SPSCC students and military members with ID; and free to SPSCC students, staff and faculty.

Saturday, June 11, 7:30 pm

Saturday, June 11, sees the South Puget Sound College Orchestra take the stage at 7:30 p.m. for a performance featuring violin soloist Quinton Morris. Morris will perform pieces from American composers William Grant Still, Samuel Barber and John Williams. Additionally, the orchestra will perform selections from Jean Sibelius and Leonard Bernstein. Tickets are $10 for general admission; $8 for seniors, non-SPSCC students and military members with ID; and free to SPSCC students, staff and faculty.
