Due to snow and freezing temperatures, all SPSCC campuses and facilities are closing at 3:00 p.m. today, Feb. 11, and will remain closed through this weekend. All in-person classes, services, and activities are canceled until Tuesday, Feb. 16.
Online classes will run as scheduled and virtual services remain open today and tomorrow during regular hours. (SPSCC is closed on Monday, Feb. 15, in observance of Presidents Day.)
As COVID-19 continues to impact public health, Spring Quarter instruction at SPSCC will remain primarily virtual. Most classes will be offered as online, virtual, or hybrid classes, like fall and winter quarters. We will continue to offer some in-person services for students on the Olympia Campus on the same schedule we are currently using (Mon. – Thurs., 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.).
In an update on Dec. 29, SPSCC shared that it was resuming limited in-person services through at least Jan. 14. We remain confident in our health and safety procedures and have decided to continue to offer limited in-person services on our Olympia Campus.

SPSCC will continue to offer online, virtual, and hybrid classes for Winter Quarter 2021.
As COVID-19 continues to impact public health, Winter Quarter at SPSCC will continue to operate in the same way as Fall Quarter. This means that most classes will be offered as online, virtual, or hybrid classes with very few face-to-face classes.
Winter Quarter registration begins on Nov. 3.
Advising Day, usually a single day for you to ask questions or meet with your Educational Planner before registering for next quarter, is coming up soon. This quarter, Advising Day is going to look a little different.
Introducing: Virtual Advising Week, May 12 – May 19
During Virtual Advising Week, you can “walk-in” to a 15-20 minute virtual meeting with a member of the educational planning team. During the session, an Educational Planner will answer your questions and assist you with Summer and Fall Quarter registration.
SPSCC today announced that its 55th commencement ceremony will celebrated virtually on Satruday, June 20 at 10 a.m. Nearly 1,500 graduates will be honored at the virtual event, as well as on a special new graduation website.
“This was not an easy decision to make,” said SPSCC president Dr. Timothy Stokes. “We know this isn’t the ceremony we all expected, but we’re extremely proud of our graduates for completing their degree during this challenging time. They deserve tremendous recognition.”
Due to freezing weather and difficult road conditions, operations at the Olympia and Lacey campuses will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17. Gates will open at 9:30 a.m. Students, visitors, and non-essential staff will not be allowed on campus until 9:30 a.m. to allow facilities adequate time to prepare campus.
All classes scheduled to start prior to 10 a.m. are canceled for the day.
