FAFSA file date bumped up to Oct. 1

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has made a change to filing dates. You can file your 2017-2018 FAFSA as early as October 1, 2016, rather than January 1, 2017. The October 1 submission date will be a permanent change, enabling you to complete and submit a FAFSA as early as October 1 every year.

Undergraduate research earns SPSCC a chemistry grant

Recent work between South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) and community partners has won the college’s Natural and Applied Sciences division the Collaborative Opportunities Grant. The grant, awarded by the American Chemical Society, will support the ongoing development of undergraduate research opportunities for SPSCC students. This collaborative program enables SPSCC students interact with—and create a bridge to—faculty, four-year institutions, local businesses, and state agencies.

Clipper Tyler Watts earns national honorable mention

  • Sophomore basketball player earns honorable mention for Scholar Athlete of the Year from National Association of Two Year College Athletic Administrators
  • Watts also earns the Art Feiro Athlete Academic Leader of the Year Award from the Northwest Athletic Conference
  • Watts also won multiple defensive honors this season
