Veterans Center hosts celebration for local and national veterans Nov. 10

South Puget Sound Community College’s Veterans Center is hosting a special event to honor and celebrate community veterans.  This year’s Veterans Day Celebration includes speakers, a banner signing, breakfast foods, and more.  The event is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 10, at 8:00 a.m., and will last about two hours in building 21 at SPSCC’s Olympia Campus.

The Veterans Day Celebration will honor the 19.3 million United States veterans—those who have completed a service for any branch of the armed forces—and bring awareness to larger issues for the veteran population.

Guest speakers will share their successes in overcoming the struggles of post-service life; themes will include homelessness, attaining careers through education, and how combat affects veterans after leaving the service.

Veterans will be invited to sign a banner that will be displayed on campus for the week following the event.
