Naming of Structures and Programs Policy

Section:
Board of Trustees
Policy Number:
133
Effective:
Tuesday, September 10, 2013
Policy:

It is the policy of South Puget Sound Community College to leverage gifts through naming of College structures and programs in honor of persons or entities that have made major financial contributions or for other purposes as determined by the Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees and the College President reserve the right to consider any and all factors regarding the privilege of name association with any program, fund, or physical aspect of South Puget Sound Community College. The final authority rests with the Board of Trustees to name structures and programs in honor of persons or entities that made contributions to the College.

Purpose:

Additional resources enhance the College’s ability to respond to the needs of SPSCC students and the community. Naming opportunities fund a level of excellence in programs and services that would otherwise not be possible. This policy is intended only as a guide and allows for flexibility on a case-by-case basis in alignment with the College’s strategic priorities.
