The Foundation shall solicit and receive private gifts, bequests and donations to benefit the College and to support the College’s mission. Funds shall be disbursed for the encouragement and support of students, faculty, staff and administration at South Puget Sound Community College and to enhance programs and facilities.
South Puget Sound Community College and the College Foundation shall at all times hold a binding agreement related to the operation of the College Foundation, as it relates to the acquisition of resources to benefit the College in exchange for operational support provided by the College.
The Foundation shall be governed by an un-paid volunteer Board of Directors comprising 20-30 local business and community leaders committed to the support and enhancement of the College. The Foundation office staff shall consist of an Executive Director and other support staff as deemed necessary by Foundation operations.
The purpose of this policy is to mandate and clarify necessary inclusions in a legal agreement between the College and Foundation, establishing the separation of the two entities and defining their relationship as it relates to raising funds to benefit the College.
