Curricular Catalog Update Policy

The College adheres to the follow timeline for curricular updates:

  • February 1 – All catalog-impacting proposed changes to courses must be submitted to the Course Review Committee, including:
  • Course title
  • Course description
  • Course number
  • Credits
  • Prerequisites
  • Changes in distribution and diversity designations


  • March IC deadline – Any revisions to program planning guides and all program and course changes described above must be approved during this meeting in order to be included in the following year’s catalog.
  • All changes are effective for the upcoming summer quarter unless otherwise noted.  Any courses or programs being retired are effective at the end of spring quarter.



To allow for the regular and timely annual update of course outlines and program planning guides in the College Catalog and other systems impacted by curricular updates.

To Whom Does This Policy Apply: 

Faculty and administrators proposing changes to course outlines and program planning guides to Instructional Council. This policy will be included in the IC Handbook.
