Using VoiceThread, instructors and students discuss, highlight, share, and comment on a variety of media, including images, pdfs, presentations, videos, and more. This can range from recording informational videos for your students (like lectures), to embedding quizzes within videos to assess student learning. Participants in this workshop will experience what it feels like to be in a Zoom conference, and learn some different ways to utilize this free technology with your students. 2:00-3:00 Using Perusall - Perusall is a social annotation tool that integrates with Canvas and allows students and instructors to collaboratively markup documents. This can be embedded as assignments within Canvas that allow students to have ‘discussions’ about texts asynchronously using a PDF of the text they are discussion.
