Welcome to SPSCC
The transition to college is an experience that impacts the entire family. That's why we want you to be involved!
At SPSCC, our learning environment combines small and affordable classes, quality faculty and curriculum, and modern facilities that support a gateway to a 4-year college or university. We've earned top 50 and top 150 community college recognitions in the past three years by College Choice and the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program.
More than a community college

The days of negatively referring to a “junior” or “community college” are over. SPSCC has spent nearly 70 years developing a “2-year university” experience that perfectly prepares students to enter a 4-year university and achieve their education and career goals. We also graduate more than 1,500 students per year with technical certificates, fast-tracking students into high-wage, high-demand careers in our own community and beyond.
Making it affordable to get your degree
The cost of attending college is an increasing struggle for families all over the U.S. Here at SPSCC, we provide students with a university experience at a fraction of the cost of a four-year university.
College classes for high schoolers through Running Start
Families can start planning for college expenses even earlier by enrolling high school juniors and seniors in Running Start. Students attend classes at SPSCC during high school, saving families up to $4,000 per year per student. The most successful students graduate with a high school diploma and an associate degree—for free!
Small class sizes
With a 22:1 faculty-to-student ratio, we provide quality time with instructors and countless opportunities to collaborate, speak up, and engage with other students.
Quality education with faculty and support
While our award-winning faculty members have high standards, they also value the diversity of their students’ learning styles and life experiences. SPSCC instructors provide supportive and receptive teaching environments, often in technologically “smart” classrooms. Personal and academic support are also available to help students succeed in every aspect of their lives.
