Request support for Prof Tech students
Thanks to funding from the federal Perkins grant, dedicated one-on-one tutoring is available to any student enrolled in a Professional Technical degree program, who needs additional assistance beyond what is available in the drop-in tutoring centers.
In addition to supporting struggling students, Perkins tutoring is a good opportunity for successful Prof Tech students to earn money and deepen their own knowledge by helping their peers.
Before submitting your request below, please note:
- A faculty member must complete the Perkins request form.
- A new request form must be submitted each term, even if the student has received Perkins tutoring previously.
- It is not required but strongly preferred that you identify a potential student tutor, someone who is skilled in the course content and who is available to tutor. We make every effort to find a tutor, but we may not be able to if no tutor is recommended.
- It normally takes about a week for newly hired Perkins tutors to be cleared to work for the college.
- Once your request is received, you will receive a confirmation email from an LSS administrator.
