Craft Brewing & Distilling

Combine your interests in science, technology, business, and creativity in a unique way. Distill spirits and craft signature brews in the fast-growing craft beverage industry. Students in our Craft Brewing & Distilling program work alongside experienced local brewers, distillers, and cider makers to learn what it takes to be a part of this field and develop the industry.

What's Different at SPSCC?

Outside the Olympia area? Students from all over the country can be part of our programs. We offer most classes online. We do require 3 weekends per quarter on-site at our facility in Tumwater, WA.

Get out in the world with off-site events. With trips to agricultural hubs like Yakima’s hop fields and equipment fabricators like JV Northwest, you’ll gain valuable experience at every step of the craft brewing industry.

Enter a thriving local industry. Students who complete the program will be prepared to successfully open their own craft brewing operations, or support existing businesses in their local community. The knowledge you earn in this program will be critical in helping the industry grow, innovate, and thrive.

Entering the industry. Ready to enter the craft beverage industry? The 2-year Associate in Applied Science (AAS) program focuses on the science and production of craft beer, spirits, and cider.

Growing in the industry. Already have a degree in science or business? The 2-year Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) program boosts your career in craft business management and quality assurance.
