SPSCC students can choose to live with a local family, rent an apartment, or live with nearby relatives or friends. SPSCC does not have on-campus housing but offers an apartment program close to the Olympia Campus.

Apartment Program

Enjoy safe, high-quality living spaces within walking distance of the Olympia Campus when you choose the SPSCC Apartment Program. The apartments provide an opportunity to live and connect with other SPSCC students while being close to bus lines, restaurants, and shopping.

Apartments are not furnished and have a shared living area, kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, and bathrooms. They also have a stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, washer/dryer, and dishwasher. Each apartment complex has a workout gym and community center.

Rental rates for apartments are affordable, competitive, and include all utilities including internet. Rent and housing fees are applied to your student account every quarter. You may use the college payment plan to pay for these costs in addition to your tuition and fees.

You must be 18 to live in an apartment. Apartments with 2 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms each have two bathrooms. There are two options: a student can rent a private bedroom, or share a room (for a lower rental rate). Singe/twin beds are only allowed in the bedrooms. Apartments and inventory are limited.

All steps of the application process must be completed for your application to be considered:

  • Submit the online application. There is a $125 non-refundable application fee. By applying, you acknowledge that SPSCC may complete a background check.
  • Clear the background check.
  • Upon determining eligibility and once space is available, you will receive an offer of placement via e-mail along with instructions for the next steps.
  • Accept the placement offer by the indicated deadline. Failure to meet this deadline may result in SPSCC moving down the waitlist and your application moving to the bottom of the list.
  • Schedule a lease signing appointment. You will receive your keys and can begin moving in.
  • We offer leases based on the academic schedule and you will have the option to renew your lease each quarter.

Homestay Program

The most affordable option is the SPSCC Homestay Program. Homestay is a great way to experience local culture. Our diverse hosts consist of females, males, couples with children, single parents with children, retired persons, and persons who practice religion. Your host will provide you with a private room and most meals.

Host families are on a convenient bus line to campus. All SPSCC students are provided free bus transportation. Homestays are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply for this program by submitting a Student Homestay Application.

Application Fee (one-time): $125

Placement Fee (one-time): $550

You will receive the homestay matching service, continued support from the staff throughout your time at SPSCC, and airport pick-up.

Complete Homestay | $680 per month

  • 7 breakfasts and lunches a week with food provided by the host and prepared by the student
  • 5 dinners a week prepared by the host

Partial Host | $625 per month

  • No meals provided
  • The host will provide the student with a furnished private room, Wi-Fi, and access to a kitchen

After you submit a homestay application, SPSCC will begin the matching process for that specific term.  Applying early will give you priority in the matching process, but all students will receive their family's profile approximately 2 weeks prior to the new student arrival date.
