Launch Your AEC Career with Cutting-Edge Skills in Revit and Construction Technology

The Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Technology program at South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) is one of the limited programs in Washington state that teaches Autodesk Revit, the industry-standard Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. Though the AEC Program is part of the IT Pathway, what sets our program apart from others is its technical, construction-centered focus, preparing students for real-world roles in architectural, engineering, and construction environments.

Hands-On Training with Industry-Leading Software

SPSCC’s AEC program equips students with practical, job-ready skills using the same software trusted by industry professionals. Students gain proficiency in:

  • AutoCAD – 2D drafting and design fundamentals used across all AEC disciplines
  • Civil 3D – Civil infrastructure design for land development, roads, bridges, and utilities
  • Revit (Architecture + MEP) – BIM modeling tools for architectural and building systems (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing)
  • Navisworks – Coordination software used for clash detection and construction sequencing in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)

You’ll start using these tools immediately—no prerequisites or delays to access advanced software training.

Direct Workforce Access & Regional Industry Success

Unlike other programs, SPSCC is workforce-driven, enabling students to pursue employment in architectural firms, construction companies, and design-build organizations as soon as they complete the program. Our graduates are employed throughout Washington and Oregon in roles such as:

  • BIM/VDC Technician
  • Architectural Drafter
  • CAD Designer
  • Construction Coordinator

Employers value SPSCC grads for their blend of hands-on construction understanding and high-level software competency.

Workforce Funding

Some students may qualify for workforce funding to help pay for tuition, fees, books, tools, supplies, and more. You can complete one easy online application and be considered for eligibility for the Worker Retraining, BFET, WorkFirst, and Opportunity Grant programs: SPSCC Workforce Funding Application

Compare Your Options

While other programs across the state may also offer Revit instruction, their programs often require prerequisite and/or corequisite courses before students can access Revit. They also emphasize design and transfer preparation for 4-year architecture degrees. In contrast, SPSCC’s AEC program eliminates barriers, prioritizes technical application, and offers:

  • Immediate Revit training
  • Practical construction-centered curriculum
  • Hands-on learning opportunities when surveying and practicing Civil Engineering
  • Direct job placement support

Advance Your Education with a Seamless Transfer Path

SPSCC offers a direct-transfer AAS-T degree to South Seattle College’s Sustainable Building Technology BAS program—providing a streamlined route to a bachelor’s degree while maintaining your career momentum.
