Machining Technologies

Do you have a keen eye for detail? Do you like to work with your hands, use your creativity to solve challenging problems, and work with high-tech equipment? Get involved in the fast-paced and evolving industry of machining technology and learn to design, create, and refine products for leading industries around the world.

At SPSCC, our students are provided instructors with real-world experience and state-of-the-art Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment.

What’s Different at SPSCC?

Gain a competitive edge. You have the opportunity to earn five National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials over the course of the two-year program – these credentials prove that you have demonstrated skills at industry-established standards.

Specialize in your second year. Work closely with local employers, and select a specialization in your second year: programming, repair, set-up, and additive manufacturing.

Take advantage of a 3D printing class. No experience is needed to join a 3D printing class, offered each summer and winter. Explore for fun, or take it as part of the additive manufacturing specialization.

Get extra support with our I-BEST program. The Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) program is a nationally-recognized teaching model that provides two instructors in every class – one focusing on the professional and technical material of your program, and the other helping you strengthen skills in English, writing, and math.

Worker Retraining funds. Some machining students qualify for Worker Retraining, which helps pay for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and more. Learn if you qualify for Worker Retraining.
