Preparing delicious treats for the Governor’s Inaugural Ball on Jan.15 a team of 10 students in South Puget Sound Community College’s Culinary Arts program tackle the job of creating 700 Crispy Kraken Won Ton delicacies on Friday, Jan. 10. With a total of 3,000 individual offerings the evening’s food menu will those Crispy Krakens, Chicken Confit and Vegetable Wonton with a Kumquat Sweet Chili Sauce, delectables including Steelhead Candy and Micro Dungeness Crab Roll that is served in Brioche and garnished with Micro Greens. To satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth, chocolates with names like White Chocolate Passion Fruit, Yuzu Caramel and Boozy Milk Chocolate Ganache are on the menu along with a variety of drinks. According to Kati Sagawa, the college’s Director of Marketing and Communications there are 4 faculty/staff chefs and 13 students working on the event food along with 6 additional SPSCC staff/faculty working at the bars for Percival Creek.
