Master Plan Update

  • Responses to city comments/questions finalized. Once the city approves the plan, it will be scheduled to go before the Hearings Examiner.
  • McGranahan - Matt Lane - is the consultant DES project manager is Essa Oro.
  • Project Parcel Number - 112828110500
  • Master Plan Update is currently available for review on the facilities website.

Building 25 - Business Office Renovation

  • Electrical and mechanical work underway
  • Within the next 14 days Prime, texture, paint, installation of ceiling grid and fire equipment installations will be complete
  • Anticipated project completion late April
  • Furniture has been ordered, and ETA will be available shortly
  • No delays in timeline.

Building 27

  • Project closeout underway
    • Project funding sources exhausted

Building 34

  • Grant funds ($617,624) will allow for the replacement of 14 additional heat pumps and a full upgrade to the building controls. Additional pumps ordered ETA is 3/24.
  • Ameresco is the ESCO company - Heather DeMunn and Nate Salyer the contacts. Cody Jacks is the DES project manager.
  • All framed walls complete.
  • Phase 1 demo and electrical near completion.
  • Plumbing Demo complete.
  • Electrical on schedule.
  • Low voltage on schedule.
  • No delays in the timeline.
  • CNA Program scheduled to temporarily relocate Bldg. 32.

Building 35

  • MacDonald Miller is the ESCO company - Rob Wyllie and Ryan Haggerty are the primary contacts. Cody Jacks is the DES project manager.
  • Project includes the replacement of Heating Control Systems and Heating Valve updates.
  • This project will have three funding sources - a state allocation, local reserve funds and grant monies.
  • Projected schedule will have a start date of late March
  • June 30 deadline project deadline June 1 invoice deadline.

Building 21 Boiler/Cooling Tower Replacement

  • Boiler installation complete
  • Cooling tower has been ordered and scheduled for 4/25 install
  • Communication Software and mobile app will be part of the final package.
  • Emergency funding ($225,535), grant funding ($440,509) and reallocated infrastructure money will cover this project
  • Cooling Tower hardware approved and ordered
  • Cooling Tower curb approved for reuse
  • Currently No Delays in Timeline.

Energy Management Programs

  • Building 31 retro-commissioning to save energy program value $38K
  • DOC Grant reimbursement for Building 34, 35 and 21
  • Property wide survey and savings benefits underway. Anomaly Study.
  • Clean Buildings compliance. Operations and maintenance Program Energy management Program.
  • PSE COHORT Program
  • Building Operator Training

Energy Efficient Lighting Project

  • A grant to cover the cost of replacing all non-LED lights ($1mill. building and site) on the Olympia campus has been awarded. Final contract from Amersesco Approved.
  • Approved contract re-negotiated and amended to not exceed total funding of $1 million. This will potentially create a $174,928 local cost savings.
  • Final buildings included in project will change to reflect the savings. Revised buildings on
    project lists include Buildings 22, 25,27,34,35 and 1st floor of Building 16
    Bldg. 20 & 23 upgrades will occur at a later date.
  • Ameresco is the ESCO company - Heather DeMunn and Nate Salyer the contacts. Cody Jacks is the DES project manager.
  • Sample lighting locations in Bldg. 34 will show conference, classroom and common area settings to be used campus wide. Currently available to view.

EV Charging Stations

  • 10 chargers funded with grant/local money.
  • Five to be located in Lot C and 5 to be located in Lot J
  • Meeting set up with Forma/DES and EV Rep the week of the 17th.
  • ETA for installation is April
  • Two funding sources - local and grant money.
  • R779 is the allocation for the grant portion of the project ($75,000)
  • R778 is the allocation for the local match portion of the project ($25,000)

New Business and Key Projects

  • Building 31 awarded a $38,000 Retro-Commissioning Audit! With the purpose of helping to extend the life of building systems and reduce environmental impact. project guidelines available.
  • Building 25 proposal in house to update the MDF Data Room HVAC. Coordinating new contractor process with DES
  • Kraken Studios underway with the construction of recording and sound stages. Studio design is complete. HVAC, Electrical scheduled.
  • ABC Rooftop currently being monitored for repairs schedule.
  • Two Boilers are being monitored in Bldg. 35. We currently are scheduling a complete rebuild but replacement in the near future will be inevitable.
  • Energy Management Program is currently underway with PSE. This will reward the college with cash savings for upcoming projects.
