South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) has been selected to receive funds through the Washington EV Charging Grant program, administered by the Department of Commerce. The $75,000 grant will allow SPSCC to install ten Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on campus.

"We are excited to implement this project and expand the EV charging stations on campus," said Laura Price, SPSCC’s Director of Facilities. "These charging stations will not only serve our campus community but also support the region’s broader goals of environmental stewardship and innovation."

Contracts for the grant will be issued by the Department of Commerce within the next few weeks, allowing SPSCC to begin the planning and installation process throughout the spring.

"We are grateful for the support from the Washington State EV Charging Grant program and the Department of Commerce and look forward to continuing our efforts to promote clean transportation options for our campus and our community," added Price.
