The South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) Music Department will be performing two concerts featuring SPSCC students this June at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main Stage: A Brazilian Requiem and Jazzed Up for Summer.

On June 9 at 7:30 p.m., the SPSCC Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Singers, and Percival Choirs join forces for A Brazilian Requiem. The concert will feature a performance of José Maurício Nunes García’s Requiem in D Minor and works by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Ludwig van Beethoven. Singers Lauren Zinke (soprano), Crystal Zimmerman (mezzo-soprano), Ryne Olson (tenor), and David Hoffman (bass) will also be featured.

The following week, the SPSCC Jazz Band performs on June 13 at 7:30 p.m. featuring both large and small group ensembles performing selections that showcase songs to get you jazzed for summer.

Admission for each concert is a suggested $15 donation at the door. Entrance is free to SPSCC students, staff, and faculty. The Music Department concerts are sponsored in part by R.L. Ray Violin Shop. More information is available on the college’s Arts & Entertainment page.
