South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) will celebrate this year’s 1,524 graduates at the 2025 Commencement Ceremony on June 14 at 10 a.m. outside at The Evergreen State College's Red Square. The ceremony will also be live-streamed on SPSCC's YouTube channel.

For its 60th commencement ceremony, the college will award 1,222 associate degrees and 228 certificates to the graduating class. Additionally, the college will award 77 GED® awards and 231 high school diplomas. Furthermore, 250 students will be graduating with highest honors (3.9 to 4.0 GPA) and another 169 set to graduate with high honors (3.75 to 3.89 GPA).

The ceremony will begin with a processional by a Clan Gordon Bagpiper and a welcome by SPSCC President Dr. Timothy Stokes. The SPSCC Chamber Singers and Percival Choir will then perform the college’s alma mater, “The Waves of South Puget Sound.” Then, the student speaker will provide a speech to their class and the presentation of the 2025 Outstanding Student Awards will follow. After the presentation of class and diplomas, the event will close with the ceremonial turning of the tassel.

This year’s student speaker, Jackson Feaster, will share some words about the graduates taking their journey’s next steps in academics and careers. "My speech will center around the theme of 'From Voice to Vision: The Power of Purpose'. It will reflect on our journey as students, not just through the classrooms and deadlines, but through the personal growth that brought us closer to our purpose,” said Feaster about the theme of his speech.

Drawing from his own experience in community activism, Feaster will highlight how each graduate has the ability to create impact when they speak up and stand together. “I want to remind my fellow graduates that whether your passion is art, science, advocacy, or anything in between, your voice matters and this graduation is not just an end, but a launch into the real work of changing the world,” mentioned Feaster.

Parking, event information, and more can be found on the Graduation webpage. The ceremony program can also be found online.

Graduates, family, and friends can help share the success and achievements of SPSCC's class of 2025 on social media with #spscc.
