For its 61st commencement ceremony, the college will award 1,298 associate degrees and 265 certificates to the graduating class. The college will also award 64 GED® awards and 189 high school diplomas, and celebrate 265 students graduating with highest honors (3.9 to 4.0 GPA) and another 179 with high honors (3.75 to 3.89 GPA).
Additionally, for the first time in SPSCC’s history, the college will award bachelor's degrees to nine students graduating from the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program.
The ceremony will begin with a processional by the Clan Gordon Bagpipers and a welcome by SPSCC President Dr. Timothy Stokes. Members of the SPSCC Music Department will perform the college’s alma mater, “The Waves of South Puget Sound.” Then, the student speaker will provide a speech to their class and the presentation of the 2026 Outstanding Student Awards will follow. After the presentation of class and diplomas, the event will close with the ceremonial turning of the tassel.
This year’s student speaker, Karen Fitzroy, will address graduates as they take the next steps in their academic and professional journeys. In her speech, Karen will reflect on the diverse stories each graduate brings to this moment, emphasizing that their achievements at SPSCC extend beyond academics to personal growth, self-discovery, and the importance of finding community.
Parking, event information, and more can be found on the college’s Graduation webpage. The ceremony program can also be found online.
