South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) and SPSCC Trustee Doug Mah have been recognized with 2026 Pacific Regional Awards from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), one of the highest honors awarded to community and technical college leaders and institutions in the region.
The Pacific Regional awards build on earlier recognition both SPSCC and Mah received from the Washington Association of College Trustees (ACT). SPSCC earned the 2026 ACT Impact & Success Award for its commitment to expanding opportunity and improving outcomes for students, particularly those who are first-generation or from low-income backgrounds. Mah earned the 2025 ACT Trustee Leadership Award for his outstanding service, advocacy, and leadership on behalf of community and technical colleges.
“From our faculty and staff to our trustees and community partners, we all share a commitment to creating meaningful educational opportunities and responding to the evolving needs of the communities we serve,” said Dr. Timothy Stokes, SPSCC President. “These awards are a testament to the collective efforts of the entire SPSCC community.”
The Pacific Regional awards will be presented at the 2026 ACCT Leadership Congress in Chicago this October. As regional award recipients, both SPSCC and Mah will also be considered for national ACCT awards, which will be announced during the organization's Annual Awards Dinner at the Leadership Congress.
