South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) will be hosting the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) Pacific Rim Regional from March 22 to 24.
The CCDC Pacific Rim Regional will feature eleven teams representing colleges in Washington and nearby states competing in challenges designed to simulate real-world cybersecurity scenarios. In addition to hosting, SPSCC will also be competing, represented by the Mad Hatters club.
“It’s an honor to host the CCDC Pacific Rim Regional Competition at SPSCC,” said Andy Leiren, Professor of Cybersecurity and Network Administration and Mad Hatters Advisor at SPSCC. “This competition highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. We look forward to welcoming the participating teams and witnessing their skills in action.”
In addition to challenges, the competition also includes a job fair for the participants and will culminate in an award ceremony to recognize the outstanding achievements of the competing teams.
"The Mad Hatters are both fairly new as a club and fairly new to competitions. We have learned a lot since our start and have been hard at work practicing in preparation for these events,” Leiren added. “Regardless of how we do, it will still be a fun opportunity to practice what we've covered in classes and show off our capabilities!”
Due to the content and nature of this competition, the CCDC Pacific Rim Regional is closed to the public.
