The South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) Music Department will be performing three concerts featuring SPSCC students this December at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main Stage: The Colors of Spring, Make a Joyful Noise, and Winter Jazz.

First, the SPSCC Choirs present The Colors of Spring, an eclectic repertoire evoking the sounds and images of springtime on Friday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. The concert features works by Florence Price, Johannes Brahms, Irving Berlin, Reena Esmail, and Gwyneth Walker.

Then, the SPSCC Symphony Orchestra will perform Make a Joyful Noise on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m., an exhilarating evening of music that celebrates the joy and energy of orchestral sound. The performance features works by Adalyn Sidon, Jerry Bock, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2 in C minor, showcasing sweeping melodies, vivid contrasts, and powerful emotional depth, a perfect close to a concert celebrating the power of sound to lift our hearts and spirits.

Finally, come share in the celebration of the end of the winter season with the SPSCC Jazz Band and Jazz Combo in Winter Jazz on Tuesday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Admission for each concert is a suggested $15 donation at the door. Entrance is free to SPSCC students, staff, and faculty. The Music Department concerts are sponsored in part by R.L. Ray Violin Shop. More information is available on the college’s Arts & Entertainment page.
