On June 27, 2023, South Puget Sound Community College’s (SPSCC) Allied Health programs received the 2023 Health Care Champion Future of Health Care Award.

The Health Care Champion Awards, presented by the Thurston-Mason County Medical Society and the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce, were established to recognize heroic acts, steadfast dedication, extraordinary service, and professionalism that are seen every day in our community’s medical offices, clinics, hospitals, emergency services, and related organizations. Award recipients are selected by a committee of healthcare leaders in the community.

“It is an honor that the SPSCC Allied Health programs have been recognized as a Future of Health Care Champion,” said Marriya Wright, Dean of Allied Health. “Our students are provided many opportunities to work alongside our community partners and, in that time, they grow and have new ideas to share. The SPSCC Allied Health teams then work hard to meet the needs that are being shared. By utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and evidence-based research, we equip students to go forth and be among those great healthcare providers in the community. Giving back is what we do!”
