EFDA Program Admissions

Application Period

The application cycle is currently open.  EFDA program applications will be accepted February 4 - April 30, 2025.

Getting Started at SPSCC

If you are not a current SPSCC student, you need to apply to the college to get your ctcLink ID number and ClipperID. You’ll use your ClipperID to access your SPSCC email – an important piece of applying to this program.

Before Applying to EFDA

Review the EFDA Pathway Map and make sure that you've met all Admission Requirements.

Minimum eligibility for entrance to the program: Applicants to the EFDA Program must be currently registered as dental assistants with Washington State (RDA). Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years restorative chairside dental assisting experience within the last 5 years. If an applicant has not graduated from an ADA/CODA accredited dental assisting program they must have a current CDA certificate through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Applicants must have a dentist willing to commit as their sponsoring dentist.

Priority consideration will be given to those students who have 5 or more years of restorative chairside experience, current certification with the Dental Assisting National Board (CDA), and have submitted a complete application prior to other qualified applicants.

Application procedure: Applications for the EFDA Program will be accepted beginning on the first business day in February.  Those received by the last business day in April will be given priority consideration for admission. There is a required, non-refundable $25.00 application fee due at the time of application. For an EFDA application to be complete, all required documentation must be included.

Health & safety: Applicants must have current and valid health care provider basic life support (BLS) certification and proof of Hepatitis B immunity.

EFDA Sponsoring Dentist Form and Application

To apply to the EFDA program, complete the following two steps in order.

Prior to completing the online EFDA application, print the Sponsoring Dentist Form and obtain the signature of your sponsoring dentist.  Do not submit the form directly to Enrollment Services or to EFDA staff.  Instead, you will attach the signed form to your online application in Step 2 below.

After You Apply

Confirmation that the application was received will be sent by email.  After applying, applicants who met the application deadline should regularly monitor both their SPSCC email and ctcLink for updates.  In ctcLink, applicants can monitor their status, take notice of any additional requirements needed to complete their application file, and view other action items or entry decisions.  Notifications and any additional communication from program staff will be sent only to the applicant's SPSCC email.
