English as a Second Language

Do you want to improve your English language skills? English as a Second Language (ESL) classes help you speak, listen, read, and write better in English. Classes meet in the morning, afternoon, and evening on the Olympia Campus and Lacey Campus.

Visas and Non-eligibility

Non-eligibility: People who are in this country on a student (F-1, M-1) visa are not allowed to participate in publicly (state and federal) funded adult education.

People in this country as "nannies" or "au pairs" on a study exchange (J-1) visa are required to participate in college-level academic classes, not in BEdA or ESL classes.   Homeland Security may have additional procedural rules regarding non-citizens.

Please contact International Student Services about the Intensive English Program.
