Bio:
Five years ago, Charles left a career as a research scientist, allowing more time to pursue a lifetime interest in the visual arts. Charles currently lives in Olympia, Washington, but travels as much as possible. Museums, shrines, and wild places are favorite destinations.
Artist Statement:
In my former ‘day job’ as a research scientist, I spent years studying the technical methods and predictions related to climate change modeling. The cold logic and language of scientific writing didn't allow me to express the alarm and dismay about what I learned is happening to the planet. Art gives me an alternative voice, and now I make pieces that explore a pivotal question for humanity - what is truly sacred in our world now?
