Lynn Helbrecht was born and raised in Southern California. She decided to move to the Northwest a;er working summers in Alaska during college, and has lived in Olympia, Washington since 1985. She has always loved photography, but pursued it only casually while she developed her career in fish and wildlife conservaHon. ReHrement in 2021 offered her the opportunity to deepen her understanding of the cra;, studying new techniques for making images that felt different and conveyed a sense of emoHonal impact. She feels most successful when she is able to showcase the very extraordinary hiding in our everyday world.
