Swimmers
Bodies in the water, moving in pure sensual experience, alive and decaying, free, in the circle of life, coming from and returning to.This group of mono prints began with my impulse to express in paint my deep connection to the water and being in the water. II love swimming in Puget Sound and in the last few years have had the great good fortune to spend time on Totten Inlet. The water is cold and a deep mysterious opaque green when you dive under. The feeling of immersion in mystery and the knowledge of unseen life surrounding me is such profound source of joy. These acrylic mono prints are made using a Gell print pad. I paint on the pad and press the paper into the soft pad and wait for it to dry. When you pull the paper off the pad the results are always a surprise
