What is the Students of Color Conference?

The goal of the Students of Color Conference is to support Washington State students to become more active proponents of their own education and life choices; and expand the opportunities and possibilities for students to become agents of change.

The Conference is open to all students regardless of background, race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, age, and socioeconomic status.

SOCC 2026 will be held on April 30th - May 2nd at Columbia Basin College.

These conferences are meant to enhance and enrich our students’ learning experience. Only currently enrolled SPSCC students are eligible to apply. While students of color are encouraged to apply, these conferences are open to any student that demonstrates strong ally-ship and a commitment to diversity issues on campus.

Students need to prepare themselves in order to make the most of their conference experience (by attending Brown Bag Chats, the DLI Certificate series, coming to the DEIC and engaging in conversations regarding underrepresented populations, and attending DEIC events). Lastly, students are encouraged to participate in an educational project after attending the conference so they can "give back" to the campus community.
