Educational Cost Statement:

The average cost to educate a resident full-time community college student for the 2015-16 academic year was $7,126. Students pay an average of $3,056 in tuition toward this cost. The remaining $4,070 is an “opportunity pathway” provided by the State and is funded by state taxes and other sources.

Additional Fees

The college charges additional fees to support the enhancement of student learning and the student experience.

Technology Fee:
Running Start Students $45.00 per quarter
ABE, Parent Coop, ESL, and GED Students $10.00 per quarter
All Other Students $35.00 per quarter (1-9 credits)
$45.00 per quarter (10+ credits)
Student Building Fee:
All Students: $1.90 per credit (up to 10 credits) (through Summer 2017)
$6.00 per credit (all credits) (effective Fall 2017)
Matriculation Fee:
All Students: $20.00 per quarter
Associated Student Programs Fee:
Running Start Students who do not qualify for low income waiver: $5.00 per credit (up to 10 credits, $50 max) (effective Fall 2017)

Books: The cost of books varies depending upon the type of class.

Supplies: Costs vary according to the kind of courses you plan to take (paper, pens, pencils, etc.). Individual technical programs have costs for tools, uniforms and other specialized materials.

Repeating Classes: Students repeating a course after the third time (includes V, W, and F grades) will be required to pay the full cost of the course (Non-Resident/International Rate) for any additional repeat attempts regardless of their residency.

Paying Tuition & Fees

Tuition and Fees are due in full by the Tuition Due Date—see the Academic Calendar for Tuition Due Dates.
To pay in person:  Visit the One-Stop in the Center for Student Success (Building 22) or at the Lacey Campus.
To pay online:  Login to Web Payment.
To pay via payment plan:  Visit mycollegepaymentplan.com/spscc.

Third Party Payments

The Business Office must be notified of tuition and fees being paid by any third party (i.e., organization/agency, private/alternative student loan, scholarship, non-profit agency, state agency or financial institution) to avoid being dropped from classes. HB 1795 Disclosure

RCW 28B.15.0681(5)(a) and (b) require that institutions of higher education provide certain information to all undergraduate resident students. This is also known as the HB 1795 disclosure.
