Update 1:40 p.m. on May 8
SPSCC has reconnected Canvas and you can now login again. Any online classes remaining today, May 8, are still canceled.
Instructure has made some security updates and we believe their systems are safe and stable, though the company is still investigating the cyber incident.
At this point, it appears that Canvas user information may have been viewed by unauthorized people. This may include any user’s name, email address, ctcLink ID number, and messages sent on Canvas. We believe this may create a phishing risk. Please note:
- You may get unexpected phishing emails, text messages, or phone calls that ask for personal information or that direct you to log in to a website other than Canvas.
- If you receive a message like this, do not respond, do not click the links in it, and do not login. Please report the message to SPSCC’s IT Help Desk at helpdesk@spscc.edu.
If your online classes, assignments, or due dates were affected by this event, please be patient and watch for updates from your instructor; keep in mind that faculty were also affected by this event.
If you have questions, please contact the IT Help Desk at 360-596-5544 or email helpdesk@spscc.edu.

- No other SPSCC systems are experiencing a cyber incident.
- Do not attempt to log into Canvas until you hear directly from SPSCC.
- Please be alert to unexpected emails, text messages, or phone calls that ask for personal information or that direct you to log in.
