Master Plan Update

  • An approval has been reached for the SPSCC Soccer Field! The final meeting with the City of Olympias Hearing Examiner stamped the CUP Approval with minor policy suggestions.
  • Next steps in this “Progressive Design Build”
    • Review of the PDB process
    • Requests for Quotes (RFQ) with an anticipated design start date of 6/25 and proposed $5 mill budget.
  • PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project consists of construction of an NCAA Division One Turf Soccer Field, complete with lighting and a Field House that includes concessions, restrooms, and storage facilities. The proposed location of the Soccer Field is adjacent to existing wetlands, necessitating mitigation measures to ensure no net loss of wetland ecological functions. There is a planned student housing building just to the East of the soccer field, location of the field and concession building, as well as utilities and access shall take into consideration the future student housing project. Building 35

  • Reviewing crucial timeline with this project
  • The idea of exhausting total funding before project completion is being considered. Biennial deadline and substantial completion dates may not align but the completion of a functional re-commissioned system should not be an issue. This will mean that the programming portion may be slated for completion after final billing is submitted.

  • Cooling Tower hardware approved and ordered

  • Approved contract re-negotiated and amended to not exceed total funding of $1 million. This has created a $174,928 local cost savings.
  • Final buildings included in project will change to reflect the savings. Revised buildings on  project lists include Buildings 22, 25,27,34,35 and 1st floor of Building 16 Bldg. 20 & 23 upgrades will occur at a later date.
  • Ameresco is the ESCO company - Heather DeMunn and Nate Salyer the contacts. Cody Jacks is the DES project manager.

    • Thanks everyone who participated in the lighting sample display.

Additional Closed Out Projects (Expired Lien)

  • Parking Lot Paving and Striping.

EV Charging Stations

  • To keep this project within the original budget we will need to reduce the overall charging station count. We will switch to a double charging station to maintain overall charging flexibility.
  • Lot “J” has been designated for EV location. This location will allow us to add this new service without sacrificing ADA parking while allowing areas for additional future charging stations.
  • Currently four (4) double stations are planned for installation.
  • Forma (Contractor) is finalizing contract for review. Expected 3/19.

Building 25 data Room HVAC

  • New Representation from DES, Yelena Semenova, has reached out to a new design team Hultz BHU Engineers to incorporate plans for the originally requested split system solution.
  • This design will still incorporate the redundancy features, humidity control and remote access and fall within budget.

Capital Project Financial update will be submitted on a separate spreadsheet and will now include our project reimbursement status.
