Housing

SPSCC students can choose to live with a local family, rent an apartment, or live with nearby relatives or friends. SPSCC does not have on-campus housing but offers an apartment program close to the Olympia Campus.

Apartment Program

Enjoy safe, high-quality living spaces within walking distance of the Olympia Campus when you choose the SPSCC Apartment Program. The apartments provide an opportunity to live and connect with other SPSCC students while being close to bus lines, restaurants, and shopping.

Apartments are not furnished and have a shared living area, kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, and bathrooms. They also have a stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, washer/dryer, and dishwasher. Each apartment complex has a workout gym and community center.

Rental rates for apartments are affordable, competitive, and include all utilities including internet. Rent and housing fees are applied to your student account every quarter. You may use the college payment plan to pay for these costs in addition to your tuition and fees.

You must be 18 to live in an apartment. Apartments with 2 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms each have two bathrooms. There are two options: a student can rent a private bedroom, or share a room (for a lower rental rate). Singe/twin beds are only allowed in the bedrooms. Apartments are limited at SPSCC, and placements if available are sent to students approximately three weeks before the start of the quarter.

All steps of the application process must be completed for your application to be considered:

  • Submit the online application. There is a $125 non-refundable application fee that will be applied to your student account when you accept your placement. By applying, you acknowledge that SPSCC may complete a background check.
  • Clear the background check.
  • Upon determining eligibility and once space is available, you will receive an offer of placement via e-mail along with instructions for the next steps.
  • Accept the placement offer by the indicated deadline. Failure to meet this deadline may result in SPSCC moving down the waitlist and your application moving to the bottom of the list.
  • Schedule a lease signing appointment. You will receive your keys and can begin moving in.
  • We offer leases based on the academic schedule and you will have the option to renew your lease each quarter.

The SPSCC Housing Program will provide you with information on the lease renewal process and important deadlines, so you can decide to stay in the apartment program for the following academic quarter or search for other housing options. This mid-quarter renewal process provides you time to plan ahead and the flexibility to cancel your lease each quarter if needed.
