Our Events

Our events bring donors and community together to celebrate student success and raise vital funds for scholarships, grants, programs, and more. They’re a meaningful way to support SPSCC students and an opportunity to align your business or personal values with a cause that transforms lives. Join us and be part of Making the Sound.

Join us for the Clipper Scramble Golf Tournament at the beautiful Tumwater Valley Golf Club, the home course of our SPSCC men’s and women’s golf teams!

This fun-filled event brings together golfers and community members for a hole-in-one opportunity to make a difference by supporting scholarships and grants for SPSCC students.

Visit the Clipper Scramble event page for more details.

The Leadership Circle Gathering is a biennial event honoring supporters who generously contribute to student success at SPSCC in the following ways:

Leadership Circle members have given $1,000 or more in one calendar year.

Lifetime Circle members have given $25,000 or more during their lifetime of giving.

Legacy Circle members have listed the SPSCC Foundation as a benefactor in their estate plans.

We proudly recognize their generosity and commitment to making a difference. Visit the Our Supporters page to learn more. Contact Foundation@spscc.edu or call 360-596-5430 to learn how you can get involved.

Phenomenal speakers, celebrated student achievements, and inspiring stories are all part of our annual Martin Luther King Jr. lecture event. Each January, SPSCC welcomes a prominent keynote speaker to share insightful perspectives on topics related to educational access and community impact. Visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Event page to learn more.

Sponsors are invited to attend a special pre-event reception with fellow community members. Contact us at Foundation@spscc.edu or call 360-596-5430 to learn about sponsorship opportunities.

The annual Brunch With a Purpose event supports the LGBTQ+ Student Success Fund, which directly helps LGBTQ+ students through scholarship and emergency grants. Since SPSCC supporters John Doan and David Marks first launched the signature brunch and auction event in 2018, it has helped raise over $100,000 in contributions from individual community members as well as local sponsors. Campus Cares is organized and facilitated each year through a partnership between the SPSCC Foundation and the Campus Cares Street Team.

Building a Legacy

By specifying South Puget Sound Community College Foundation as a beneficiary in your estate plan, you can help continue the Foundation's work to support student success for years to come. Be sure to contact your financial advisor to learn about planned giving options that best meet your personal, financial, and legacy goals.

A beneficiary designation gift is a flexible and affordable planned gift option. You can name South Puget Sound Community College Foundation as a beneficiary, using any of the following options:

  • IRAs and retirement plans
  • Life insurance policies
  • Donor advised funds
  • Commercial annuities

Before deciding on the type of legacy gift you want to make, be sure to explore options that best align with your planned giving goals. Contact your broker, insurance agent, or financial representative for assistance in finding the best way to establish a gift plan that is right for you.

How It Works

  1. Request a change-of-beneficiary form from the administrator of your retirement plan, insurance policy or bank account, or download the form from your provider's website.
  2. Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like the South Puget Sound Community College Foundation to receive and name us, along with the percentage you choose, on the beneficiary form. Return the completed form to your provider.
  3. Contact Amber Wetzel Director of Philanthropy at 360-596-5379 or awetzel@spscc.edu. Notifying the Foundation of your plans enables us to support your intentions and plan for the use of your future gift.
