New Student Advising & Registration

Steps to Enroll » Step 5: Attend Advising & Registration

Welcome to SPSCC! If you are on this page, it means that you applied to the college, activated your email account, determined how you will pay for college, and assessed your skills. Congratulations, you are ready to attend New Student Advising and Registration (NSAR).

NSAR is a mandatory session that will give you advising information and support to help you register for and start your classes as a new student. In this session, you will choose your classes with support from an Advisor, receive in-person support in case questions arise, and build personal connections with advisors.

You may reserve your spot for NSAR by registering for the session of your choice as early as three weeks in advance. Reserve your spot by signing up on the online Appointment Scheduler, select Yes, I have an ID Number, and Option A to schedule your NSAR session.

Online New Student Advising & Registration Option

If you are unable to attend the in-person New Student Advising & Registration session or are a returning student, we offer an online option. The online NSAR is intended for students who:

  • Completed 15 credits at SPSCC or another institution with 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Take all of their courses online
  • Take all of their courses on the evenings
  • Are temporary students
  • Do not have access to childcare

Once you complete the online NSAR, it may take 2-3 business days to release the hold on your registration. This is not an automated process. You will receive an email from the Advising Center indicating that you are able to register for course once your online NSAR information has been processed.
