New Student Advising & Registration

Steps to Enroll » Step 5: Get Registered

New Student Advising & Registration

Before you can register for classes, you are required to complete the online New Student Advising & Registration (NSAR) session and Pathway Selection Survey (PaSS).

In your NSAR, you’ll learn about campus resources, your Support Network, and how to get registered for classes. You’ll also take a 6-question career assessment, which will help you select your degree or certificate and pick a Pathway for the PaSS. Pathways help you take classes that relate to your interests and career goals to earn your degree.

These steps are currently open online only.

Things you should know

The PaSS and NSAR are for students who are new to SPSCC or returning after more than two quarters away. Before completing these steps, make sure you have:

  • Applied to SPSCC;
  • Activated your ClipperID;
  • Made a plan to pay for college; and
  • Been placed at the best level for English and math classes.

After you complete both steps, please allow 2-3 business days for us to clear you to register for the next quarter.

Spring 2022 registration begins February 22, 2022. Spring classes start April 4, 2022.

Ready to Begin?

Check your SPSCC email for a link to complete both your Pathway Selection Survey (PaSS) and New Student Advising & Registration (NSAR). You'll get this about 1 business day after you set up your SPSCC email (step 2). After you complete both of these, please allow 2-3 business days for us to clear you to register for the next quarter.

The PaSS and NSAR for Spring 2022 will be available starting February 7, 2022. Completing these requirements before registration opens will ensure that you will be able to add classes as soon as you can (starting on February 22).

If you don't see the link in your SPSCC email: Complete the Request for Access form. You'll be sent a new link within 1 business day.

If you're a returning student with an active SPSCC email account: you'll be sent the link about 1-2 business day after your admissions application has been processed.

If you applied for a future quarter (Summer 2022 or after): you'll be sent the link 2 weeks before NSAR opens for that quarter. If you’d like to begin this quarter instead, please contact Enrollment Services via the One Stop or to update your start quarter!
